Colloquy began as the name of a one-off exhibition at the Methodist Conference of 2004 which was so successful that it is now the name of a small theology and arts project.

Intrinsic to the Colloquy vision is the idea that conversation is the heart of human experience.

During 2006 I have sought to stimulate conversations around the centenary of the birth of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. This led to a Bonhoeffer web site, a poetry competition and conference.

Resisting tyranny

A translation of the first fourteen verses of St John's Gospel by another friend, Clive Scott, epitomises what I am after.

The Resisting Tyranny exhibition originally planned for three showings grew to seven – Westminster (January), Birmingham (May), Edinburgh (June), Bletchley Park Museum (August), Church of Christ the Cornerstone, Milton Keynes (September), Winchester (November) and at Cartwright Hall Bradford from September 07 to January 08. See Bonhoeffer UK web site for details.

I was particularly delighted that Dan Jones, from Amnesty International, contributed a remarkable painting to the Resisting Tyranny Exhibition which charts the 45 years of Amnesty’s life and expresses the exhibition theme.

‘Conversation – A History Of A Declining Art’  by Stephen Millar was published on 2006.  Hope to do a review in due course.

In keeping with the concept of conversation, this site also has its own Blog page.
